Been on gabpentine for about 3 months due to nerve pain I have a slipped disc.

I get really bad pains in me stomach and have to go toilet until pain goes . I know this is not a nice thought.

Just wondering if anyone else gets this , the pain terrible . I feel bloated all the time I eat but not a lot , am on 600 mg a day .

As at the beginning they wanted me take 900mg which I couldn't coz they made me bleed . So I thought mybe there to strong for me

Am having a operation end of may for me slipped disc and they told me stay on these pills to after operation.

Just the pains I get its awful

It helps the nerve , as I have lot pain down me leg . So yes it helps for few hours .

You should tell the doctor about your stomach. If the gabpentin is effective for your pain, maybe a different ant convulsant such as pregabalin would help your pain without making you ill.

Thanks lucy, I just wanted to know if anyone else had this side effect.

Thing is am on antidepressants so there only so many pills I can take with me anti depressents

I haven't had stomach pain, but certainly I have read others say it has messed with their digestion.

Thanks luck I did go doctors and they said keep taking them ... doctor done a full blood test on me .

Am losing weight as well , but I have cut my potions done a lot more like a kids dinner I have now .

Have me.operation soon so have wean me self off these pills.

Hi Donna.I 've noticed the same thing.I started on Gabapetin about 12 weeks ago at 200mg then about 7 weeks ago upped to 400mg and almost 2 weeks ago 600mg(200mg in morning,200 in afternoon,200 before bed).I take it along with 30mg of Mirtazapine(15 in morning,15 in evening) for IBS,nerve pain and anxiety/depression(mirtazapine).My body was just adjusting to the 400mg of Gabapetin,so I'm hoping it will do the same thing at 600mg.I was weaned off of 20mg of Paxil twice a day during this same period.I also am taking Tramadol 50mg twice a day for back muscle pain.I take Bentyl and Librax for my IBS although the psydoc is going to wean me off of Librax(which I've been taking for 20 years) at my next visit about 4 weeks from now.Hopefully I will adjust over the next couple weeks.If anyone has taken Gabapetin over a long period let us know how long it takes to adjust.Thank you and God Bless You,Bob P.S. Hi Robert

Wow your on a lot of pills , I used be on tramadol. I just felt like I was out of it all the time .

So I only take my anti depressent and just these pulls.

Hopefully once I have my operation I have be weaned of gabapetine. And I hope it won't be that bad .

It's one them things they help with my pain so I have keep taking them .

I just have cope with the terrible pains I get in my stomach .
