I have PE in the lungs and am on currently on warfarin for 6 months (due to go back to hospital in feb 2015 for check up) .... my last INR was 3.2 but my levels are in the 2-3. I have recently started to get swollen feet (left) and have experience a mild tenderness in my left leg just above the knee as if i have knocked myself which i havent. I have not had any pains or problems with my legs at all..... my worries is should i be concern about this? I have
Hi, I'm not sure but I always thought a PE had to come from a clot or clots breaking off from a DVT, it sounds to me if you have pain and tenderness in your leg I would definitely get it checked out. Mine was in my calf and didn't go to my lungs but my daughter had a DVT in 2000 which did go to her lungs . I wouldn't wait. Hope this helps.
No i never had any pains in the legs before i had PE .... the clots were found on my lungs due to an infection i had in the chest so it is unknown why i have developed clots ................. i have only ever had swelling in the feet and legs when i was pregnant with my oldest and that was 6 years ago.
All I can say is, don't sit at home worrying, go to the doctor or outpatients at your local hospital. They can do a blood test to rule out a blood clot.
Im due my blood test later today so wont get the results until tomorrow .... its not painful just hurts if i rub the area ...... surely i wouldnt get anymore clots if im on warfarin??
Mine was a pain in my calf and I couldn't bend my leg behind me without it hurting. I wouldn't think it was a DVT but could be phlebitis .
