I am on my 4th day of taking these tablets, how long do they take to start working? Will it get worse before it gets better?? Side effects aren't very nice and I am very emotional I have had cramp in my leg all day is this a side effect???

I too am on my 4th day of citalopram, It s not easy- I feel sick most of the time and have mega headaches. I havn't had cramp though just restless legs at night. I have begun to feel a difference with my anxiety but not depression yet, they say give it two weeks.

If it helps, the side effects do ease up. It was just over a week before I stopped feeling sick and anxious, tho I did feel worse for the first few days. Hey and it was a good ten days before I stopped crying!
Stick with it and give the cit a chance to work, it takes time, and is different for everyone.

The headaches are nothing compared to the headaches i'd get if if chucked myself under the number 47 bus! If I even had a head left at all!
I do feel better and my boyfriend says he has noticed an improvements after just 5 days, I have found myself smiling to myself at work which I think may be scaring my friends a little! I am usually kinda solom.
All in all Citalopram get the thumbs up from me
