Advice

So I have been having weird anxiety lately, I am finally able to get to the doctors tomorrow. Does anyone have any advice on what type of medications I should lean towards? Symptoms DIZZINESS!!! Don't feel comfortable in my skin Depersonalized feelings Sweaty palms Waking up in panic/cant get to sleep at times Ringing in my left ear Blurred vision Spaced out feeling Light headed So much more I can't even remember.

I wrote all my symptoms down and gave it to doc, as you always forget stuff. Doc perscribed me anti deps sertraline and put forward to cbt counselling. I’ve been on the meds 9 weeks now and feel a lot better. It does take a long time for the meds to get in your system but they do work and you will be happy and well again.

i get extreme anxiety as soon as I wake up, but taking paracetamol helps

I’m sorry you are dealing with all of this. we have all been in your shoes -good days bad days it’s never easy. I take 80mg slow release Propananol and it works amazing. the best part is its non addictive. I hope you get some relief. cheers

Hi,

I suffer with bad anxiety also, I am on 60 mg propranonol which helps with the physical symptoms of anxiety, I used to be on 120mg but got side effects like weird dreams/ nightmares, dry eyes etc which doesn’t happen for everyone. I have tried anti depressants in the past, on and off over the years, they did not help me but every ones different so they may help you
Another thing, you could maybe try is cbd oil if you want? I know doctors maybe reluctant on it as it is herbal, but I find it does help calm me down.
Hope this helps

The doctor gave me Zoloft. I’m really hoping it works. I start it this morning and I already couldn’t sleep last night because I’m so nervous. Welp.. here we go. :sob::joy:

I’ve been on Paxil 30mg for the past 4 year and it works amazingly for me. I no longer deal with crippling anxiety.

However! Think about alternatives before you start taking an anxiety medication. Such as therapy, diet change, running, music therapy, acupuncture ect. Try everything before you become reliant on medication. I regret jumping to pills.

I recently tried to get off them. I became suicidal and extremely depressed. They are very hard to get off.

You also have to consider the weight gain aspect. None of this was talked about with my doctor.

doctor gave me sertaline . im on a high dose but it worked for me after a while.

I just want to stress (hah) that it is a nightmare when you do eventually want to come off an SSRI (sertaline, Paxil ect).

You may also see weight gain. I saw about 25 pounds.

Just know there are alternatives to medication, and I wish I would have known more before starting to take them.
