Advice

is it still normal for the knee to be tender to the touch 3 1/2yrs after a tkr.i cant bear snyone touching it on the outside as i get like an electric shock type pain through it.my consultant signed me off just over a yr ago x

It doesn’t sound normal to me, but it sounds like nerve pain. Were you getting it when you were signed off and did, your consultant give any indication of what it might be or what might help? Maybe see someone unconnected for a second opinion? I think that’s what I’d be inclined to do.

I do’t know. The surgeons don’t tell you all of the horrible things that can happen with thee surgeries

you definitely need a 2nd opinion

they did say i have nerve damage n now ive got fibromyalgia and was told theresno painkillers that can help

Hi
I had my tkr in 2013 my skin feels tingly when I touch it I’ve been told it’s the nerves. I too have fibromyalgia I was diagnosed in 2010

Sounds like nerve pain , I was told to massage knee and touch it as much as possible to help prevent this pain from staying . Dont know if you try and do it now ? Maybe after taking some painkillers ?
