welll controlled taper. I have had no problems along the way and consider myself very fortunate. At 86 years of age is it prudent to leave it at current dose instead of trying for that zero point which will probably have no effect on my condition?. I'm in the middle of a hip problem and don't need any other complications. I just had a cortisone injection in the right hip and can't yet evaluate the results. Total hip replacement was in consideration but I have multiple comorbidities making it risky. The pred dose was considered insignificant.
If you have other problems as well I'd stick where you are for the moment. I do know people in their 80s who have got off pred, one had a hip replacement while at a similar low dose and then got off pred altogether. So really it is probably entirely up to you whether you keep trying - you have done a brilliant job so far!
I'm actually at 2.5. I think I'll let it go there. I'm going to skip the hip replacement. Too many other problems along with.age. Had a cortisone shot on Thursday which seems to be working but I know they dont.last too long.
Good idea..........there is always time to change your mind about the hip.......wheelchairs are so great now......with motors........and you can charge around without a driving licence...
As you are in overdraft time (slightly ahead of me) just enjoy life as best as you can........... I do...........
