Hey guys, I was just wondering how you all got onto these tablets? Did your doctor give them to you easily? I'm 19st aged 30 and look like i'm pregnant- I'm so desperate to lose weight and feel utterly depressed at the mo- have booked an appointment with my doc for later this week but dont hold out much hope for any REAL help as I just keep getting told to reduce my calories (am on 1500 a day currently) I really feel like I need a quick boost weightloss to re-motivate me and cheer me up a bit!!!

Some great success stories on here....well done all. xx

Kizzie - a \"quick boost weight loss\" is not what these tablets are all about

their an aid to a smarter healthier way of eating.

The criteria for weight loss is your body masss index

\"Doctors are expected to follow guidelines when prescribing orlistat. These include:

* Your BMI (Body Mass Index - see below)

must be 30 or above, or

omust be 28 or above, and you have a medical condition that would benefit from losing weight (such as diabetes or high blood pressure).

* You must lose at least 5% of your weight by three months from starting orlistat, and at least 10% of your weight by six months. If not, the orlistat should not be continued to be prescribed.

* You must be between the ages of 18 and 75 years.\"

If you fall within that then you shouldn't have any problems but I personally would not go in saying you want a quick fix but say how the weight is affecting your confidence, your health and is making you miserable.

Thanks ladies!

Kizzie i just went in and said could i try them, he asked me why and i said purely to loose weight, he seemed a bit funny with me but gave me them anyway, i see a different doctor now whos more positive about it

let us know xx

Thanks guys

When I mean a 'quick fix' I mean I am so desperate I need to lose some NOW as I feel so miserable and everything else I'm doing doesn't seem to be working well for me really. Thanks for the advice though. I do have high blood pressure and fit the other criteria and would love to give something new a try.

Thanks for your replies. x
