Hi
had gallbladder surgery over two months ago and I am feeling terrible. I have constant chest pain that gets worse after I eat, very nauseous and a massive lump sensation on my throat. I am taking sucralfate at the moment for what the gastro diagnosed as bile reflux. Since I started this med( two days about) I feel more nauseous and I don't know what to do. I need something to help me with the reflux, and because PPIs didn't work, the sucralfate is the only medication left for or this problem. Has anyone suffer with these symptoms after GB surgery and how did you deal with it? Please I need some advice as I am in so much discomfort. Does it get better in time, until the body adapts not having a GB anymore? Any advice would be very grateful.
Hi Leni! Sorry things aren't any better. Have you tried taking car sick pills for the nausea? I started feeling like be Dec. 6-7. I am now 100% me again. I haven't been on since i have been trying to catch up with stuff around the house and getting out of the house.
It could be something you are eating that youre not ready to eat yet. I know I only got nauseaed when I tried sleeping on my stomach or sides. I had the bile going out the other end; in green poop; which is gone now. I have acid reflux so I know it is no fun. So far on the low fat diet I haven't had an reflux attack; knocking on wood.
I hope you find the answers for the bile reflux. I know i was going crazy being laid up and not feeling good.
What has your doctor said about the reflux and nausea? Answers are out there just keep asking.
I'm doing great. Still waiting for the keyholes to heal up. I just made divinity for Christmas yesterday and got my gifts wrapped since I got back on my feet. I love my walks again. I have lost over 20 pounds on the low fat diet.
I was hoping you were doing better. Hang in there! Merry Christmas and I hope the new year will be better for both of us. Keep me updated on how you are doing and what you find out the bile reflux stuff.
Lori
Hi Lori. Merry Christmas for you and your family and like you said I hope 2015 is better for both of us!
I wish I was feeling better than I am at the moment but I've seen my surgeon this week and I am doing some exams to see what's going. I haven't found anyone with similar symptoms so far in this site so I am still a bit lost why I am feeling this way and if is going to ever be better .My chest is really painful and my throat feels like there's a tennis ball stuck in it, but I guess I can only wait until next year to do the tests.for next year I only wish one thing and is to become completely symptoms free. Merry Christmas and all the best for next year! Leni xx
Leni Merry Christmas. I am with you I hope 2015 is a lot better. Sorry your still having problems.
I get dry mouth from my meds I take so I use biotene, it helps. Pain in the chest is scare. I ended up in the Emerency room earlier this year with it, they said my heart was fine. That the pain could be from acid reflux or pulled muscles.
Try stretghing your chest area. My chiroprator should me a exercise to do. Find a corner. Put one hand one each wall and press. It helps pull the chest muscles. Hard to explain in a message.
I hope the surgeon finds an answer real soon. Have you talked to a gp? If I remember right you did. The bile reflux good be damaging your sofetcause, sorry don't know how to spell it.
What ever you do don't over do it. I saw my surgeon today since my button keyhole started hurting bad on the 19. He said once we feel better we are easy to pull something and over do it which causes us more pain. My husband will be off tomorrow- Saturday and he won't let me do much.
Daughter made sugar cookies for Christmas yesterday, I only frosted them. And yes I ate a few too.
Keep me updated. I haven't seen anybody on her with the same stuff you are going through. Hang in there and have the best Christmas you can.
