As I’m 4 years next months post op for a total Left Hip replacement i haven’t posted on here for quite some time. My Left hip is still amazing although i do get some pain and i have fallen more often than i did before, anyway, I now have osteoarthritis in my right Hip, as the NHS are not back to work yet I can’t see the consultant so I’m suffering a lot the Gp gives me pain killers but they are not working i have asked for stronger ones but i just keep being told to increase the dose.
I am in the same boat. I have a feeling we could be waiting for a long time. I talked to a private orthopaedic surgeon today and he said he had not got a clue what was going on, but he thought that the private hospitals were going to be rented out to the NHS for longer than the end of June.
I am also waiting.
Apparently joint replacement surgery is at the end of the list for the resumption of elective surgeries.
This is in part due to the fact that there is a 25-30% chance of death should the patient be infected with Covid 19 post surgery, and in part due to the fact that there are so many cancer surgeries outstanding.

I can quite believe that is correct. Hips, knees and cataracts! They were talking about five year waits on radio. I hope that was exaggeration.
Hi, whereabouts are you in the UK? Some trusts are starting up dependent on certain criteria. I had my left hip done on Sunday, so some are moving along. Ask GP to change your meds, you may be too used to them making them ineffective
Do you know if they were talking about Scotland ?
I think it was just in general and probably not based on any particular information. Just scary reporting.
