I had a total left hip replacment March of 2014.. I am now having test to find out why on xray the stem is shifting and the pain hurts so bad. After my hip surgery my leg was a balloon and my surgeon never gave me a compression boot to go home with, as a result of an ugly man I live with I wound up with God awful Meralgia Paresthica, eight days after my hip replacment... That is the intrapment of your main LFCN nerve. I already had a fued spine and a fused foot. Now both my legs are ruined! when I try to tell this man about my pain, he can't be bothred! When my left hip was replaced he wouldn't help me lift my right leg to get in bed so I wound up tearing my right leg apart... any suggestions on what to do with this awful man and any info as to why my hip replacment is breaking down already? All suggestions would be appericated.. Thank You and may all of you still suffering find the answer to be well again!! Donna
Donna, if you already have xray proof that the stem is shifting, then you should be seeing an orthopedist who is a revision specialist to advice you on what comes next. What caused it isn't the biggest concern right now, but getting treatment (another surgery?) is of utmost importance before things get worse. As far as living with a man who is that unkind and unhelpful, you could reach out to a counselor or a close friend or relative to help you decide what the best course of action would be for you. Wishing you the best in getting both of these very difficult problems solved as soon as possible.
Donna I am really sorry for all your pain & agony you are going through. 😢 Not to mention not having the love & support you so deserve. Do you have any family that would take care of you while you are recuperating? I can't imagine all the pain you are in. Prayers that you find healing and good drs and a support system. That is so crucial during the early stages. Hugs to you dear. Prayers too. LD
Donna, I'm sorry your man isn't a man at all and that you are going through so much pain. Do you have any family members or friends that can help you get back to living ?
The only things I can think of pertaining to your man is 1) Send him back to his mommy's house to finish being raised into manhood. 2) Take him to the Vet and have him put down. Good luck to you in both your endeavors.
Get rid asap
I would ask for a second opinion on your hips...
As for the so called man I would not do anything for him at all.... no cooking, no washing... ignore his presence then perhaps he will become a MAN... he sounds like a spoilt brat.
Can you go an stay with someone else, or even ask someone else to come to you.
Good luck my hippie friend.
I agree with taking your man to the vet & having him put down ! LOL. Hope you get some answers & a good surgeon to help you
HiDonna, your story is scary. i am only 3 months after HR#2 and am suffering almost intgolerable pain. Despite multiple physio's I feel worse than before the op. Who diagnosed the Meralgia and LFCN for you; your doc or PT?
Best of luck with your efforts!
Liam
Liam,
It sounds like you need a specialist physician to figure out what is wrong with you and recommend treatment. I assume that your orthopedic surgeon knows about your intense pain, and it is obvious that physical therapy hasn't helped. So what does he recommend? Are you able to get a second opionion? So sorry for your intolerable pain. There should be a solution out there for you, and I hope a doctor can find it.
I see the ortho surgeon today and am expecting great things from here. i only saw her assistant at the six week review and he just did not get what was happening and therefore could not provide any solution. that is why my Gp is returning me for further consultation.
Best wishes, liam
