So my number is high?
Yes go to ER, they can give you a steroid shot and a script for oral steroids and pain meds. to cover till you can get to Rhum. Dr. That is what I did and it helped a lot. Good luck!
Hi Jamie,
I have found that PCP's (general doctors) are clueless when it comes to this disease. They shudder at prescribing pain pills because they're so afraid of controlled substances and their liability. The problem with that is, there are actually people out there, like us, who NEED these medications for a REAL illness. It's so frustrating. I too would go to the ER and get the help you need. And I'd look for another PCP if you can. The fact that they don't understand your pain from a disease you've just been diagnosed with is unacceptable.
Thanks.
I think it's incompetent of this gp, pcp. I am new to the area, just moved here a few months ago. So it's a trial by error right now...
I do plan on finding a new doctor.
As far as going to the er, I'm bringing all my paper work so they don't think I'm just a "seeker" as I've been reading about. It's such a shame that we have to go through this over what others do. They can pee test me and check my records all they want. Just help me is all I ask. This doctor is not a good one in my opinion.
Good luck Jamie
Whichever avenue you decide to take
Well I went to the er today. They gave me prednisone and naproxan. It helped a tad for about an hour, after kicking in. My lower back that is. My neck pain it didn't touch. What a predicament! 😔
Feels draining to the core. My body is so drained, but my mind is not..... Whole other discussion board. My eyes are burning and all I want to do is sleep, but when I do it's only for about an hour at a time.
Hurts to move, hurts to lay still. Goodness grief.
Get yourself a neck collar at a medical supply place to make your neck stable so it can rest.
Hi Jamie
Are you doing any better now since your last post? I sure hope so!
