Alcohol

Evening everyone

I'm on week 9 of 20mg Flu and am wondering how alcohol affects you ? I find that even one glass of wine destroys an already fragile sleeping pattern and also sends me on a definate low the following day. I would be interested to know your experiences.

keep on keeping on.

Hi Emily's mum

Peoples views are diferent on this - some people are not affected at all by drinking alcohol the same time as taking flu. However, as it's been pointed out many times before on previous posts - alcohol is a depressant. If it makes you feel worse, give it a miss for the time being if you can.

I tried it after 2 weeks and it was a definite no no. I've had the odd pint in the last couple of weeks with no nasty after effects but i am now on week 18.

Trial and error really.. only you can decide.

Best wishes. x

Hi Meganpooch and Miscellaneous

I agree Meganpooch that on reflection, avoiding alcohol is probably best for the moment. Anything that affects the way the brain synthesises this drug is not helpful and once on an even keel, the challenge is to maintain it. The hangover is hugely magnified Miscellaneous I've experiences that. I can feel rough after one glass of wine. Thanks for the responses. It has made a huge difference this week knowing that there are fellow sufferers out there and that i am not some freak who is living this awful experience alone. smile xx
