does anyone know if its safe to drink on sertraline? My friends have invited me out on friday and it will be my 9th day on sertraline, do you think its ok?
don’t mix sertraline with alcohol, it will harm you more and I don’t want that. please get to your doctors as soon as you can
You can always drink alcohol but I do NOT recommend this. I did it a few times because I forgot I was on sert and was lost in the moment of the occasion and had the WORST headaches ever. Each and every time I want to rip my head apart. So drink if you dare to risk it but now that I am older, I know better. You can take any actions but you have to be willing to live with the consequences. The choice is all yours. Perhaps it will not affect you as it did me, but why take the risk?
I’ve been on 50mg a day for about two months. When I first got on it, I noticed my alcohol tolerance was a little lower than normal and some of the side effects were a little stronger, but as long as i didnt go crazy, I was fine. Now that I’ve been on it for a while, I can drink normally and have no issues. At 9 days, I wouldn’t recommend getting wasted, but a few drinks shouldn’t be a problem.
personally I would refrain from alcohol. That is a smart thing to do. Why take chances and play it safe. Best of luck.
if you are having a couple drinks then should be fine but wouldn’t advise getting drunk.
i would wait until youre settled on the meds and only have a couple, i find hangovers are less but i cant drink much at all anymore.
I personally wouldn’t drink alcohol so early on in taking the medication. I don’t think it will cause you any major issues but it might affect sleep/side effects and anxiety x
