Alcon Acrysof IQ lens?

I am having cataract surgery done in about a month and opting for monofocal lens.

My doctor is going to use the Alcon Acrysof IQ lens. Anyone have any experience with this lens or feel there is a better monofocal focal lens to use?

Thanks in advance.....Tom

Hi Tom,

Don’t worry. You’re in good hands. Acrysof IQ lens is probably the most commonly implanted lens in the entire world. It is a monofocal IOL with a yellow chromophore that cuts the blue light, without which may result in some retinal damage.

Hi Tom, I just had a single Alcon Acrysof IQ lens implanted 9 months ago.  So far I've had a good result; only slight residual halo and faint diagonal streak with certain size lights at night.  Otherwise, surgery was only about 5 minutes and recovery was quick. Result was close to target (< .25D). I'm guessing it must be a pretty well established product, as it was used by a large HMO.  Surgeon is probably best person to discuss lens types (though not necessarily targets, outcomes, etc., as many of us here have discovered!).
