Hello! I am 8 days post OP and the itching got so bad that I thought I had an infection. My PA had me take off the bandage and it was so gross! My skin just hates the Dermabond. Red and itchy like you would not believe, with little flecks of yellow gel that I think my body had rejected. Has this happened to any one else? This week has really been a roller coaster.
yes this happened to me too, but i couldn’t convince anyone to remove the dressing til after id had the stitches removed. on mu follow up appointment the surgeon suggested it had been happening to a few people recently - i wonder if they made a duff batch… hopefully it is much better now for you, mine was so much better within a day or two of removal.
How many days post OP were you? They didn’t actually remove the glue, they just took off the bandage for me. So now I’m on Benedryl and Amoxcicilin in addition to putting hydrocortisone cream around but not on the incision. Sleeping is impossible between the itch and the hip position, I go back in on Tuesday for my 2 week appointment and hope then they can maybe remove the glue?
