Almost 2 weeks out with horrible nerve pain

I was told I have a pinched femoral nerve that shoots down my left leg, was at to have back surgery to "fix" this pain when I decided to have my hip looked at. Class 4 osteoarthritis, need hip replacement. Yaay, pain relieved and no back surgery! Nope.... was in overt night after surgery, came home, typical post surgery pains. Last few nights and says have not been fun. The nerve pain or maybe it's bone pain, starts at my groin area (where the tendons, nerves attach hip and control leg) and goes down to my knee. So uncomfortable I can't sleep or sit for very long. I've hobbled fire a few years now, but if I'm conscious, I can spelt walk normal. My left hip was lower than my right hip so figured this would correct my back and walking and pain.

Does anyone else have that pain? I can do all My exercises except cannot lift my leg straight up on the air. Perhaps I strained the tendons or nerve again? That pain was gone until I started doing those leg lifts.

Thank you

Tammy

My surgeon doesn't allow straight leg lifts for three months post-op. Since your pain started when you started the lifts, why not just stopping doing them. They need to heal right now, not be strengthened.

Hi Tammy,

warm welcome to this friendly forum of fellow hippies -

Wow, that was a very short  stay in the hospital - did you get any physical therapy in the hospital or when you got home?

which approach did you get?

straight leg raises when laying down isvery hard on the recently cut (Posterior)) or manipulated (anterior) muscles and tendons, I think

I agree with Annie here - stop doing them - you can do ankle rotations, foot pumps, sliding leg to side and towards when laying down --

come back here any time you have a question or concern, okay?

Yes, I thought it was sorry too, but was ready to get out lol. Not a comfy room.

I just realized that my passion stayed when I started doing then, so I am going to stop and see how it goes.

Did either of you have pain that shot down the front is you're leg make to you're knee? Life nerve pain? I've been icing and doing the knee lifts, while knee bent, lift up with foot, then push down with back of knee, with knee bent, push heals into bed abbas lastly squeeze butt cheeks lol. I don't want to get discouraged, but have lived with this gorribke pain for close to 2 years and can't bear to think of this not helping. Still hopefully
