July 27 2015 I was in a high impact accident involving a 3 wheeler and a car
I fractured my talus , my doctor never operated or sent me to physical therapy
Now 2 years later I still walk as if I have a cast on .. told my family doctor she
Told me to exercise which I try to do but it just causes me even more pain
And she won't give me any pain meds so I've just been dealing with the pain
2 years , not sure what to do now
Jessica
Have u considered a second opinion?
Also I have honestly been a great deal on pain during this whole process- shatttered ankle on both sides and joint...nerve pain...I have had 2 surgeries - 1 was very minor- the other was not-had infections after both of them. I say this to explain that it has been an unbelievably difficult 5 months.
I feel it is extremely important for you to do the physical therapy and while it is painful - I believe you will get rewarded with greater mobility and hopefully the pain will get better in time- otherwise you rob your body the chance of getting better- and you will remain weak and will continue to have secondary problems from compensating.
Hi Jessica. Can I ask how long you were in cast or boot. And if you were advised ito wear a high levelling shoe on good foot to keep your hips even. I'm no dr but sounds like the result of uneven walking that some others have experienced. Pysio sounds like a good plan. And so does a second opinion
That's BS! I'd take your X-rays and a copy of your treatment to a good orthopedic doctor and get his opinion. You should be walking w/o any problems after 2years.
