Alopecia on my beard - Is there an an off the counter cream for this?

Hi,

I have Alopecia on my beard, which is about 2 cm in diameter.  I wanted to know whether there is an off the counter cream that I can buy without having to see the doctor?  The only products I can find are for the head.

I can't think of anything, and not sure whether the strongest OTC cortisone cream is safe for the face. Why don't you just shave the beard???
