someone recommende this for anxiety - i need to know is anyone using it?

Hi Ann, Ive never used one but have heard of them sounds a bit like ECT but they are quite expensive £500+ a lot of money to spend to see if it works or not, hope you find someone who has used one and it's been effective.

Good luck. Neil

Thanks for your input. I await any others, i am a bit sceptical about a homespun electromic device but if it works i would be interested.

lets see if any replies

It wouldn't surprise me if it turned out to be a money-making device by some entrepreneur whose only goal is to make money.

The besy way to treat anxiety is therapy and sometimes medication.

Are you having either? What's your main anxiety, Ann?

I have had agitated depression and anxiety for three years and see psychiatrist four times a year.  He tries ro,five me different drugs but each time they fail me, either massive anxiety, nausea, zombie like feelings .  Just cant live a normal life and now my friends are distant memories as they get on with life and i sit and read paper when i can.  Nothing seems to work for me.  I use diazepam for the anxiety.

he has tried augmentation with antipsychotics (i do not have psychosis), no use, tricyclics, duloxetine, sertraline and others. No betterment.  Dont know what next.

Goodness!

I can see why you'd want to try the device. You've really done the rounds of the meds, haven't you.

Can I make the radical suggestion to change your psychiatrist, and find a therapist, Ann. It doesn't sound like all those meds did you any good, so probably some talking therapy with somebody who can help you to unpick your problems will help.

I have had 25 CBT sessions which have not made a sifference, and it was expensive but imwould pay anything to get better.  I did learn i have developed avoidance of social siruations but thats because i feel so ill.  Just dont know where to turn next.

I can't think of where you could go next, either!

I think I answered you on another thread, about mirtazapine, and didn't realise it was you.

Given that you've tried therapy and many medications, it may be that your other option is, in fact, this electronic whatever device.
