I was diagnosed 30 years ago with IBS. I mainly have terrible cramping but sometimes will have fiarrhea. My brother died recently of pancreatic cancer and my mother had a cancerous tumor removed from her cancer. My Mom went on to live 20 years with no other problems. Every time I start getting stomach cramping I get do scared that I have some kind of cancer. MY HUSBAND KEEPS TRYING TO CALM ME DOWN A ND SAYS IT'S JUST iBS. Does anyone else have t h see thoughts
I was also diagnosed with IBS 30 years ago. 31 to be exact.
I'm sorry to hear about your family history. I know that IBS does not cause cancer but being the hpychondriac that I am then I would understand where you get the feelings of something else going on.
Sounds like the health issues you mentioned can be hereditary and having IBS don't make it easier on your thoughts.
Have you talked to a doctor about the hereditary factor and the chances of of you actually getting something like pancreatic cancer? Did your brother drink?
I don't know where the tumor was removed from your mom. Seems like you were anxious and didn't mention.
Me? I would worry because I have IBS and terrible anxiety. But, I would also talk to my doctor and see what they think.
I'm so sorry you're feeling this way.
Fill me in a bit more....... And hang in there!

Maybe get some tests done to help settle your mind.
Hi. when you have a family history of cancers, it is understandable if you start having health issues to have that worry in the back of your mind. the best thing is to get your symptoms investigated appropriately such as a colonoscopy & blood tests. I would see your doctor in the first instance. Try not to worry, & tell your doctor how you feel too. x
