So a few months after I started going to college a year ago I developed hemorrhoids. I was eating a lot of crap and so I think this is why it happened. It wasn't that bad so I didn't treat them until many months later but I did change my diet and it seemed to help for a while. Finally I got medication for them but it didn't work and it seemed like they just got worse. When I got back to school this year I was really stressed out and started to eat bad again. My diet has consisted of a lot of bread, tea and coffee (I know it's horrible
). Recently I had a panic attack because I thought I was having a heart attack. Soon after I started noticing chest pains that were like heartburn. They randomly happen in different parts of my chest and sometimes I feel like a pinching in my back or shoulders. I've been burping/hiccuping nonstop.
I went to the er and they said there were no signs of a heart attack and my heart was fine. I've also been experiencing weird tingling in my back and neck especially. My throat gets soar when I lie down and the pain also gets worse in my chest.
I've told my doctor about all of this but he said he couldn't be sure it was acid reflux cause it doesn't only happen after eating. I've also been quite tired lately but I am super busy so it could just be that.
From what I've seen everything seems to point directly to gerd or acid reflux but I just wanna figure this out cause I suffer from anxiety and it terrifies me. Please let me know if you have experienced this ever.
I still have the hemorrhoids but they're not especially painful. Should I just try to take those foods out of my diet? This is all really making me panic.
Thanks,
Megan
Hi megan,
My symptoms were and still are exactly like yours. Chest pain, soar throat, tingliness in shoulder arms neck area on left side, i burp like crazy specially after heavy foods. and like you i also went to the ER on 3 different occasions and all three times my heart is been fine. i have had various blood test, stress test and 5 Ecgs and my heart has been clear. Like you i also suffer from anxiety but the truth is its is Gerd related.
Try taking probiotics i m almost certain it will help you. i take it in yogurt form which gives me 5 billion good bactaria in one tea spoon. i take 3 tea spoons daily and most days it does the trick unless i m eating very unhealthy.
Also cut out alcohol, wheat, coffee and other acidic foods.
Everything is super clogged. I tried to go to sleep but I keep waking myself up casue it's hard to breathe. I really need to go back to sleep but I'm afraid what should I do?
Hi Megan,
A sign of Haemorrhoids is usually caused by excessive diarrhoea or constipation, or a combination of both. It can be cured though surgery, just a small operation - but many people just carry on and live with it - which is like me.
A bad diet can cause your symptoms, sometimes even medications can do the same. If it is caused by medication that you are taking for anything else you can ask your doctor to prescribe Lansoprazole, this medication is only taken once a day, I take mine in the morning and I suffer no indigestion problems or acid reflux at all. There are other tablets that can be taken to counteract your symptoms, but most are in the 'prazole' family.
I have tried eating bad food on these tablets, and still had no problems - but I would not suggest that you use them in the 'long-term' - because controlling one problem could allow an underlying issue to form, in which case you would not know about.
The food adverts are designed to be 'eye-catching', but try and resist temptation. If you look at from a different perspective as in Coka-cola being used to clean toilets, "What is it really doing to your insides?" - It does make you wonder. I tried tiping a 2ltr bottle of coke down our toilet one night, just to see what would happen, first the lime-scale becomes loose and comes off, in the morning our toilet water looked strange, the coke has a heavier constancy than water, so the water floats on top of the coke. One flush and the toilet was sparkling clean.
Removing rubbish food is good in the short-term as well as the long-term, the Lansoprazole will work within a few days. normally prescribed for 28 days. Some doctors will ask you to take double the dose first, then half it - this just boosts the initial intake and is perfectly safe.
I have to take them everyday, due to a medication counteract which does work. I haven't had Acid Reflux in ages.
Regards,
Les.
