I am 54years old and work in education secondary school. I take 22.5mg inj of methotrexate weekly am I high risk and need to shield myself.
Using methotrexate does place you in a higher risk category since it suppresses your immune system. Depending on the disease you are taking it for, you could also be in a higher risk second category if it includes a lung component.
I have rheumatoid arthritis so I will treat it as high risk being on 22.5mg thanks
your doctor should monitor you through monthly blood tests.
Yes you’re in the ‘at risk’ group, your immune system is compromised so you should be self-isolating for 12 weeks, or if you have to go out, make sure you practice social distancing, as pet NHS guidelines.
