Hi I was just wondering whether there were any other gents on this Site suffering from frozen shoulder, i’ve just started the freezing stage two months in , I am an electrical engineer working with large cables all day and really starting to suffer along with disturbed sleep
Mark, no you aren't the only one. I'm 9 months in on my right shoulder and eight months on my left. Yep, both shoulders. I'm 49, active, no explanation, just started freezing. I am through the frozen stage in my right arm and in the thawing stage. Left arm is still frozen.
Hi Mark, no your not the only guy. I have bilateral Frozen shoulder, that came on out of no where.
If had one arthroscopic capsule release on one but have not been able to do the other as because of that operation I developed complex regional pain syndrome. An even more painful nerve condition than what fs is. My range of motion 8 months later is stuck in what it was and I basically can’t do anything because of the pain.
I know it sounds strange but be thankful you only have FS and it will improve.
Sorry to hear that you have it in both arms don’t think I could handle that . I’m also 49 and very active and this has come out the blue , doctor wasn’t much help sent me to Physio and they have given me exercises which are very painful and has offered injections, I’m just about managing at work ( have a good team round me ) but if I had this in both arms I know I couldn’t work , all the best
I was diagnosed with two frozen shoulders in March 2018. I was on 3 month restraint of trade stand down before starting new job in May so was able to reduce my activity including not driving during the early painful stages. My physio and doctor both confirmed no stretching once specialist diagnosed FS and cortizone injections had no effect. I am a project manager for a construction company so do not do any lifting and was able to start work in May. Can only wear jackets and clothes that are a few sizes too big so I can get my arms into them. Recently my right shoulder has released a little so I can now reach the back of my head and can tuck shirts in, although still a little painful. My doctor prescribed Amitriptyline, 10mg at 8pm nightly to enable me to sleep on one side. Initially prescribed for depression but these days used for the side effect of limiting nerve pain response to the brain make it useful in this case. Cant sleep on my back. For most people the shoulders thaw out over 12 to 18 months so you may have trouble carrying on with your physical occupation over this time. Sorry I cant be more helpful. Hope you find a way to work through this.
I have a shoulder problem that resulted as a result of a dislocated shoulder in 2013. I also have a vitamin D deficiency which is common with this condition. Have u been checked for diabetes? There is a link of diabetes with shoulder problems.
