amitriptyline works so far but having a side effect

I got the same side effects as oxcarbazepine an now im feeling the same side effects on amitriptyline it's kind like a burning pain all over my body it's wierd but at least you trigeminal neuralgia it's crushing my face so I'm just seeing if im going too keep taking it for awhile

I take this AD for nerve damage, if you are having problems, you may need to talk to your GP

I have never had that contraindication before, Have you looked on the instruction sheet that came with your script

it's a muscle pain Aurora feeling an it also makes me sleep really good sometimes groggy in the morning. how long have you been on it.

Hi im having same sensation like burninh on arms and legs. Did it get better ??

I have been on these now for over ten years, in my case it works well. I was talking to a Doctor a few weeks ago and they may want me to change to a different medication although they feel if it is not broken do not fix it. The drug is a good medication sometimes to get some sleep. I like that.

I stopped but now take it every now and then. I have weird sensations in my hands and chin. Really unpleasant. After yr comment I wonder if it is linked. Any ideas?

Altered sensation really. Not exactly numbness but awareness. I want to rub my hands to try to take it away.

How long have u been on it ? And what dose

11 years. Stopped in November. Was on 10mgs . Took it for my osteoporosis, to relax my muscles. Have taken the odd tablet since.

Any major problems coming off it? Did it help ur osteoporosis much ?

It was awful coming off it. I had dreadful withdrawal symptoms. I also had insomnia which lasted for months. It was however brilliant for my osteoporosis. It helped me sleep but also enabled relaxation which was fantastic especially when I had fractured a vertebrae (I have 14 wedge fractures). Every now and then I didn't take it just to see if it really did help! GPs and specialists have both said it can be taken periodically if desired.
