Hi I have read through the literature that comes with my meds and it does not mention hearburn but since increasing from 25mg to 50mg I have suffered terribly with it Even a cup of tea cant stay in stomach without coming back up with acids??? Does anyone here suffer this or know if it is just a side effect of the amitripyline? ![]()
Yes it does. You may not want to take another med to combat side effect of this one but if you find the amitriptyline helpful, it may be worth asking your GP to prescribe a PPI, such as Omeprazole. Good luck. x
Thanks Jeanne I will ask him about the Omerprazole It will just be another pill to swallow Cant believe that only six months ago I was in perfect health and could not remember when i last needed any meds Now I feel I rattle when I walk
Oh bless you. I think most of us probably feel a bit rattly! I've just bought a dosette box to dispense my meds into for each am and pm, anything to make it a bit easier! ☺️ x
Jeannes right Omeprazole is realy good for heartburn.
Yes, I had the same problem, but it has improved since taking Omeprazole 10mg daily.
That's what I do...it's really good and it's amazing just how easy it is to remember what to put in...however I'm done if I have to take a lunchtime supplement ...brain fog..grr..I must buy a box that includes lunch meds...I do find it much easier to remember to take them though..I keep the box next to the water filter so I don't forget...it's unreal really...every obstacle put in our way.,we can always find a remedy of sorts..even if it's just an improvise...just watching a NZ show about a very young guy (18) with spina bifita who can't walk who is waiting for an op..he is just soooo positive, he will walk out of hospital.he says... He couldn't even move his arms once..but now..wow!! How encouraging..you just don't have to look too far to see people who are worse of than you...do you??? inspiring..:-) xxx...
I had so many other side effects I just couldn't take this med, I know one of them was my stomach. This disease is not easy to deal with!
