Amitryptiline for Generalised Anxiety - road to recovery

Hi everyone,

I was prescribed Amitryptiline by my doc after trying several other drugs that did not really work for me. I am now taking 50mg Amitryptiline since 10 days. So far Amitryptiline has helped me to sleep better and my daytime anxiety has slightly decreased. I would love to hear your (positive) experiences with Amitryptiline, in particular how long it has taken before you experienced the full benefits of the drug. How were your experiences with Amitryptiline on your road to recovery?

Hi there I’ve been on the same for 7 years now, 50mg give them a few weeks, should be working well for you, good luck,

Hi. yes the Amitryptiline removed my head pain and I slept better but it increased my weight very much about 40 Kg during 13 years.

Yes I did expperiance good and bad days, all so made me very tired, confused, but difficult because I’m on so much pain relief, after thaving my right leg amputated, still am, unable to wear a prosthetic leg,
