An Update

Thought I'd just pop in and give you all an update. Alan is doing really well now we've got over the shock of everything. He continues on the warfarin but only another 2 days on the injections as well.

For myself I am having a quiet day today, I overdid yesterday a little, walked over a mile on both my walks morning and evening. Paying the penalty today of being a bit stiff and achy. It was just too nice last night to go back home. This morning I did manage to walk from the bedroom to the dining room 25 steps without my crutch and very slowly but it is a start.  I go back for Physio on Thursday so will let you know how that goes.  So all in all setbacks aside I am progressing slowly and getting fitter by the day, sleeping around 6 hours a night now too but I am getting ready to get off my back !!!

That's great news, both of you doing well!

Hi Gill

Glad Alan is progressing well.

Oh, 6 hours sleep - that sounds amazing - I cannot wait to get back to sleeping on my side, so much more comfy. A little way to go yet though!

Take it easy you two

Kind regards Linda xx

Hello nice person...

Glad your husband is recovering and sounds like in good hands medically.

Think nhs is much clearer about this than our hip ops!

As for you _ sounds like a two steps forward and one back...healthy upwards growth.

Hi great news! Don't over do it!regards Amanda

Very glad things are coming together for you😃

Hi Gill,

I am so glad you are both doing well...6 hours every night is what I can mamage as well, not bad!

Lots of love

Ella

Such positive news ! Pleased for you and Alan.x

Thats great you are both on the up,

I still din't sleep more than a couple of hours at a time,

walking better, only one crutch outside, I can't walk very far as it makes the infection feel worse.

Hi Gill,

That's all good news then.

Well done with walking all those steps without your crutch. I'm finding that very hard!

I'm a day behind you and am now allowed to sleep on my side with a pillow between my legs. But I still envy you those 6 hours. Even though I can sleep on either side, my hip still starts to niggle after about 45minutes.

Keep on improving!

It is so easy to overdo it . Good that you managed some steps without your crutch but be careful I did that too soon and it really hurt for a while. Make sure the operated hip doesn't feel like it's straining with the weight. It's amazing how much support even a light press on crutch or stick gives.

Lucky you sleeping so long too!

Glad that both of you are doing better!

Thank you xx

I would like to sleep on my side too. Am hoping after the 8th July when I see my consultant I will be able to. xx

Hi Mic How are you getting on? I have been for two walks today inbetween showers but stuck to the 0.5 mile and don't feel too bad. Glad to say some of the swelling in my foot seems to be disappearing too. xx

I'll try not to

mmm me too it was a bigger shock than anything cos he's never been poorly since we got together 15 years ago. xx

It's lovely I think you can cope with anything if you can get some sleep. xx

Thank youxx

Please look after yourself Sheila xx Alittle at a time xx

I haven't tried sleeping on my side yet, Hope your doing ok with your excersises too. I go back to physio on Thursday. xx
