hi i had anal botox 1 week ago and yesterday i had awful spasms return.
had a bowel movement this morning and in pain but no spasms yet but i expect there will be soon.
Anyone got any experiences?
feel so down in the dumps, had this pain for 2 years now.
Im taking movicol however the 1 sachet i was taking daily caused very loose stools on day 4 post botox which has made things a lot worse.
I feel quite swollen still but i presume that’s due to the botox injection and the surgeon having a good look up there.
Anyone going through anything like me?
ok so while I’m waiting for a reply im going to do a rough diary for other people who may need this info.
day 1 after botox ,no pain but loose bowels due to the enema i had.
day 2, bit uncomfortable but not to bad.
day 5, loose bowels due to movicol , pain bad.
2 weeks -sore after bowel movements, ripping feeling still. pain not as long lasting and tends to settle with ibruprofen and paracetomol .random pains in the evening last 2 nights.
still having spasms and today i am 2 weeks since botox.
from what ive read botox works in 1-2 weeks but i don’t see much difference however ive had no bleeding since week 1 but pain is the same for a time but not long lasting except weird spasms /aches in evenings.
will keep this page info up to date as the weeks go on.
today is week 2
Hi. I had botox for chronic fissure 3 wks ago. I turned up at A&E after not being able to stand the pain any longer. Thankfully they were excellent and took me in to theatre that afternoon for EUA and botox. I stayed in hospital 1 night. The spasms have lessened since in so much as I have them less frequent and they seem to be deep inside rather than the actual anal entry point. I was given diclofenac suppositries and wow they were a life saver. No other painkillers worked. Instagell applied 10 mins before for ease. Though they weren’t too bad to use as nothing compares to the fissure pain. I am now 3 wks out and thought the spasms have decreased the constant pain and the burning after a BM is still the same. I take laxido twice a day to help with BM. I have been off work since as I cannot sit for any period of time, though a heat pad is my saviour at the moment. I noticed (prior to botox) 2 red nodules by the area that is causing the pain. I am presuming these are skin tags? Though the consultant never mentioned them to me. These look red and sore. I don’t know if the pain is from them or the fissure now. Has anyone else had these?
My consultant does not do LIS as prefers fall surgery so I am wanting to do everything I can to not have that after reading horror stories on the recovery.
Sorry thay meant to say flap surgery
