well where to start!! basically, I called the hospital just now to find out where i was on the list, and ...you are never going to believe this! I was told that I'm not even on the list!! that I haven't been * processed* due to somebody being on holiday!!! typical NHS no comunication, anyway here is a copy of the email I have just sent them!
Dear Miss Young,
I had a hip replacement at your hospital in November last year by Mr Roberts, apart from no after care except an emergency ward number, everything went well, I was told at the time that both hips quote Mr Roberts* were buggered * I asked to have a bi-lateral thr but he said he wouldn't do that.
My new hip was doing great, but my other one deteriorated very quick to the point that I couldn't do the post opp. exercise for my left, I went to my GP and he referred me for the second opp. I was seen in may, for the first appt. and then again on the 4th June for my pre-opp, I had to call the hospital to find out where I was on the list 3 weeks ago and was told by either your booking office or Mr Roberts secretary that my cut off date for giving me an opp. date was the 24 of this month.
I am now in such pain that I'm housebound, I can hardly walk, I'm sick of taking painkillers, as they bring on my IBS, but the main worry is that my new hip has started hurting, I called the ward and spoke to a phsyio, and she said it was probably trocantic bursitis, well the pain has got even worse, and I'm scared it will ruin my new hip, as I have to put all the strain on it, because the right one is bone on bone.
Today I thought it's nearly the 24th ( my supposed cut off date) so I'll call and see where I am on the list, and to my utter amazement I'm told firstly by Mr Roberts secretary that nobody ever gives a cut off date, and then transferred to the booking office to speak to them, having told them everything, I'm then told that Heather who ever she is, is away and they have no record of me being on the list, and that it has not been processed!!! to say I am angry at this total incompetence and lack of communication would be the understatement of the decade!, I told them I would be taking the matter to you, as you are the CEO, also that if I did not get satisfaction asap. I will not hesitate to put the matter in the hands of my lawyer.
I await your reply, and hope you can resolve all the issues mentioned, as now my whole life is on hold, and I have been waiting for the letter coming with my date, and now it seems I'm not even in the running.
