Hi everyone I’ve suffered with panic and anixety disorder since 2007 am recently taking omeprazole and since been on them having panic attacks and bad anixety and find myself losing control don’t know what to do the anxiousness is taking my social life away can’t do things used to love sad really
are you taking these for acid reflux?? these medications can give you anxiety/panic to the point where its hard to control, i stop taking all the PPI meds for acid reflux because they were doing harm than good to me, i had really bad panic attack/anxiety where i thought i was gonna have a heart attack and i couldnt control it and plus made my acid reflux worst, am still struggling with the acid reflux but am scared of taking these again, my dr prescribe them but i didnt fill it. i do suffer with anxiety and depression but these meds made everything worst
I’m confused. i thought omeprazole was for stomach problems ie reflux, to stop the
bad effects of other tablets on the system. I wasn’t aware of any other use. i wonder what
it is making your anxiety etc worse. what did the GP tell you they were for? Sorry you have been feeling like this
Yes am taking for acid reflux I’ve been told they don’t cause anixety and panic but since been on them my mood been low anixety and panic through roof really scared feel worst will happen to me I suffer anxiety and panic disorder but was managable till put on these tablets for acid. Iggitated most of time sleep pattern a mess when stopped taking them before felt my symptoms easing now been back on them for nearly a month and am in fear again.
He said they are for acid reflux but since been on these been low mood intense fear iggitated scared panicked and when wasn’t on them my symptoms were managable definitely got to be these tablets causing this much anixety can’t sleep properly either only on and off
Fair enough. i would explain to GP that perhaps there is something in these tablets which you
feel you are having a reaction to and ask him to change them. if you still have the same
results then it is either the tablets or there is an ingredient which is in both. Unfortunately,
it comes down to trial and error when assessing which medication is the right one for you.

when i started taking the lansoparozole ones, i was having bad panic attack and anxiety with breathing problems and i would go to the ER because i didnt know what was wrong with me so eventually one day i ran out of them and then the symptoms went away but the acid reflux was still bothering but i didnt pay attention to the meds so one day i tried another like a different meds but it was still under the PPI family and same thing i still didnt think much of it and oh i had severe dry eyes and eye pain on that meds but anyways i tried a different brand called tectra and same thing happen but worst my panic attacks were so bad i thought my soul was rip out my body so thats when i
put 2 on 2 together i knew right there its the meds so i stop taking them maybe am sensitive to them but other people going through the same thing research it and tell your doc whats going and maybe give you a different brand ur dr might denied it too cause these drs dont do know nothing all they do is prescribe things to people
