I'm not an expert but I can tell you from my own perspective that sugar is very very bad for my LP. It took me a while for it really to sink in because I was always a sweet tooth person, and even now after a year I think ' oh, just one of those little pieces of (insert favourite sweet treat) won't hurt! And if it WAS just one it would probably be ok BUT two days down the line no problems down below so I'll have maybe two pieces shortbread. You think ohhh, I can do this!
This happened to me last week, thought I could get away with it and got carried away. Not only the shortbread but quite a few pieces of fruit, some honey, etc.
Two days ago thrush everywhere, didn't know what it was, off to dermo in despair $130 later, now on Fluconazole which is so bad for gut flora but necessary, days of nasty burning pain blah blah.
No refined sugars ever. Very little fructose ever.
It sucks but it is what it is and as for being on Prednisne, well, sorry and been there for four months myself just recently, but being hungry is a side effect for some. Eat raw vegies or protein instead. I used to keep chicken drumsticks cooked in fridge and those middle of night fits of hunger were happy with that little treat
A very positive side effect for me was weight loss with just no sugars! Lost 17 kgs (38 lbs or so) over the lazy year and am now well within normal range for my height. Of course not everyone is overweight but for me it made things better in many ways as pertaining to treatment and keeping dry etc.
You have to take every little tiny silver lining with this damn disease so I'll take that!
I also use an applicator of oestrogen cream once a week to combat dryness and that is very helpful.
No sugar.
Handle stress as well as you can, that a hard one but its true!
I also don't touch dairy or wheat but that's mainly because of IBS, maybe it helps my LP as well?
No sugar
And lastly, no sugar.
Good luck!
