Another issue for my health anxiety... Please help me.

I've had a lot of health scares recently. The latest is my veins/heart.

Sometimes my heart beats like crazy.. It becomes hella hard and scares the life outta me.

My veins are another issue that *really really really* bothers me.

I've always had thin/light skin- and even when I'm tan you can see my veins very well. I'm just naturally a veiny person. Always have been.

But in the past few months I got sick with bronchitis and some other harmless stuff and around this time my leg veins and arm/hand veins became more pronounced and visible. Now they keep shrinking on and off, or swelling/getting dark on my hands or wrists.

I don't know what to do. I can't be taken to a doctor or a hospital. I don't think it's a clot because it would've killed me by now.

I've had two blood tests and some scans that **might** have shown some type of issues... But I don't know.

I thought it might be meds I took on and off for infections, or something of that nature but I'm long long long off those.

Everyone says it's from my blood pressure being up (anxiety induced, not an actual issue) or from being dehydrated; but I've been chugging water and juice constantly so it's not that. It should be gone by now. I nearly puked earlier because I was standing up for awhile in front of a mirror (putting dye in my hair) and I looked down to see my veins swelling as always, but even bigger and dark blue on my right wrist.

Someone help please I'm so afraid to die in my sleep or to have heart failure.

Hi. When you become weak your veins become more prominent. When you raise yours arms above heart level, do the veins disappear? If yes, it cannot be a clot. And bulging veins are not signs of high blood pressure. Its just weakness. Dont worry about it. Relax

It can definitely be from dehydration but some people just have veins that show more than others, it is completely normal.

Veins tend to become more prominent as we get older. In children there is usually a thick layer of tissue (mainly fat) under the skin and it's often difficult to see any veins at all.

This layer tends to be thicker in females than in males, and in both sexes it decreases with age.

In addition our skin becomes thinner as we get older which also makes the veins more visible. If you are fit and well it is very unlikely that your prominent veins are anything to worry about.

Smoking does have an ageing effect upon the skin, and this may be relevant in your case. I'm sure you are aware of the other harmful effects of smoking.

What if I don't smoke, I'm not extremely skinny- and I'm only 17?

Those were just examples of what can contribute to it but it can still just be the way you are without any other cause for concern. Are the veins bulging? Or painful? Or hot? Do you know what a varicose vein is? Are they bulging like that or just that they are noticeable under your skin?

They aren't painful or hot. I know what those are and they aren't really bulging in the same manner- like how they bunch up, get fat, look painful, etc.

My arms/legs/wrists hurt and throb but that's only because I have an untreated muscle spasm on my upper body and lower back. It caused me to cramp up and get aches which my fever made worse (got a virus)
