For the last few days I seem to have been able to do things I haven't done yet at 13 weeks post op. Wlaking almost all of the time without my stick, still a bit wary when outside though. This morning I feel like a grown up, as I managed to shower without my stool, so standing up like I used to for the first time. hehehe. I feel as if I have reached the moon. Sometimes I moan about the excersises taking over but they are sooooo worth it. Every day is a different day and nearer to normality. Just thought I would update you. xx
Hi gillcat
Well done, very positive post.
Great to hear, it's so good to rejoin normality. As you do theses things you realise what has been missing preop. To day I went for a pedicure and walked in toe post sandles. Result no problems with the nail varnish drying!
hi Gillcat,
sounds like onwards and upwards, bar the off bad off day! And folk think there is a full year to recover, so more excitements to come!

Thats good news Gillcat, I have to wait for that day, 10 weeks time when my second one gets as well as my first one, you must be so pleased to be getting back to normal, I know I am.
Kind regards Ian.
Well done my friend, doesn't it feel good when you can do something you couldn't do for ages, like me I managed to walk round the town with out my stick too
You're doing fantastically well, making great progress and ,most importantly, keeping your sense of humour! It's onwards and upwards from now!

I am Ian sometimes I think I am lagging behind everyone but then I think if I could do it I would be doing it. Glad you are feeling better too. xx
Well done you funny how all of a sudden you just get with whatever you want to be doing ... xx
every little step is a massive improvemment maybe I'll be running at Christmas ? (NOT) xx
There maybe a full year but it seems to be going quicker than it usually does. Have to get a bit mobile I'm going on the Norfolk Broads on the 15th September on a boat for a week. How are you getting on now?
xx
Funnily enough I mentioned a pedicure not long ago. I just feel that after all we've been through there should be some pampering. xx
Hi,great to hear your walking without your stick, you will feel so much better without it,it gives you that positivity that you had lost, don't even think about your stick now you are in a new place, keep it going Love Michael.
Thanks Michael xx
Hi Gill,
This is very good news...well done! I wonder how we are going to feel in one year time...
Best wishes
Ella
Good to here you are doing well!
Dearest Gillcat,
So happy for you !!! interesting how, eventhough we know that we are all different and healing at our own pace, we still compare ourselves to others -
big accomplishments and keep the "feeling good" energy within ..
big warm hug

Hard to believe it's 13 weeks. Yours was one of the first posts I read. I think it was the day before your op and you were scared. I not only showered without chair today but I got in to my over bath shower. I have a flat space at far end of bath and I sat on that and swung legs over. Getting back out was a mission tho so I don't think I'll do that again unless someone is in the house. Every little thing is appreciated now.xxx
