does any one know of a surgeon in Manchester England who performs  anterior hip replacements ?

Hello Mary.

im based on London/ Kent border and spent ages googling and researching this same thing. It is very very unusual to find anyone in uk who is experienced enough to perform the anterior approach. 

I opted for minimally invasive surgery. Op was last Thursday and it's been really great. I live alone, and have coped . I'm mobile , pain free, have had no brushing and a very small scar. 

Maybe you will have to think about this method ? X

Do you still have the same restrictions as with posterior surgery and so minimally invasive common place ? Thanks

I cannot answer your question darling ( I live in Holland) - I read your previous postings and about the anxiety and phobias you are dealing with - 

Would you be open to hypnotherapy?  

I am a certified clinical hypnotherapist in the State of California and know that hypnotherapy can be very helpful - 

at this point I am not sure if going for anterior approach will take your anxiety away - surgery is surgery - from what you have shared, it seems to me that you are more anxious about the post-op situation than the surgery itself ... is that true? 

I am so incredibly sorry that you are going through this and wish I could help you more ...

im afraid I don't know about Manchester but I had my anterior approach operation just over a week ago and am really pleased.  I removed my surgical bandage yesterday and have a small 10 cm scar.  I'm already walking with one crutch and will soon be able to manage without this inside.  My surgeon is Birmingham based Callum McBryde.  If you do find a local name I would check how many of this surgery they have done and over what period of time.
