I had vaginal a&p surgery 13 days ago. I had a grade 3-4 Rectocele and grade 3 cystocele. I’m feeling so disappointed! I still look and feel really loose and wide and I feel like there’s still a bulge at the bottom.
Originally I went to see 2 different consultants, the first one said she would only do the back repair and had to get the prolapse surgery authorised by the multidisciplinary team who would say what I was allowed to have done. I was confused by this as I was going private through my insurance so couldn’t understand why it had to be authorised. Anyway they came back and said because of my age (42) they would only agree on the back repair and I would have to wait until my anterior prolapse got worse. She said however she would tighten me up as much as she could and it would be able to accommodate two fingers.
I went to see a different surgeon as I wanted both repairs doing if I was having an operation. This surgeon at the same hospital, said I could have both done and he would be able to fix 80% because if he did anymore than that there was a risk of being over tight. Surgery went great no pain whatsoever but now I just feel so loose, you can get way more than two fingers in and I can feel a small bulge at the bottom. I’m gutted and beginning to think I should’ve gone with the other surgeon. I have scar tissue from the bottom of my vagina where I tore with my first baby, so I feel like this part needs stitching up a bit and tightening and I wish I’d of said something. Will a surgeon do revision surgery?
