Antibiotics and Tegretol

Does anyone have any experience of taking the antibiotic Cipro Denk whilst on Tegretol. It’s been dispensed from a local pharmacy abroad (5 day course) and Im not sure how the two meds are going to interact with each other.

Hi,

I have just checked in the BNF (drug bible for doctors and nurses!) and the only contraindications are drugs called NSAIDs (anti-inflammatory), also if you have a history of tendon damage. No mention of a problem with Carbamazepine.

But with any drug or drug combinations there are risks with individuals, so take care but take the antibiotics as prescribed.
