My wife was in hospital and picked up an infection, the doctor sent a blood test off,it came back that my wife had no a typical antibodies.
Does this mean that her immune system was compromised?

I believe that 'no atypical antibodies' means the blood is normal
If your wife has some form of Immune deficiency she should be referred to a Specialist Clinical Immunologist, these are the only doctors with sufficient knowledge and expertise
hello ta11berg,unfortunately my wife passed away shortly after. The reason I'm asking is that I was given two different answers when I asked in the hospital.
I am sorry to hear that you have my greatest sympathy. Immune deficiency is a rare disease not known or understood by the majority of doctors,I am a primary immune deficient patient, but there are other reasons, for a lowering of immune response, which are much more likely. My condolences
I'm sorry to hear about your wife Danny, how long ago did this happen? When my husband died, I got a lot of support from his Consultant but ultimately, he had to move on, so I started to ask my GP my questions. Perhaps your GP might be able to help you.
My wife passed away about 18months ago,I have had three meetings with the hospital complaints panel.
I am still not any further ahead with an acceptable reason why my wife died,as I've had a load of conflicting answers.
I asked if I could record my meetings with them they said NO,so I DID record the meetings secretly and also my phone calls from and to them,I have now given all my information to my solicitor to take them to court. My GP help me?HE is one of the ones that will be going to court.
Sorry forgot to say,DO NOT TAKE THEIR WORD for anything,it will cost you £10 to get your husbands medical files, and even then you will have to really scrutinise them,I did this and found a load of mistakes,if you do go down this road always take a witness with you,and if you have any questions it's better to write to them they have to answer you.
