My anxiety has been pretty low recently like just sitting in the background if you know what I mean. I'm on a little family holiday just in a caravan in Kent England. Today I've felt my anxiety become stronger like it's been at me all day. And this evening has been the worst. For the past hour I've been having an anxiety attack feeling like I'm gonna drop down dead at any minute. My back feels weak like I'm gonna collapse I feel like I can't breathe or I'm not getting a satisfying breath. Weird taste in mouth and feel like my heart is gonna stop. It's horrible and it doesn't feel like it's gonna pass. Plus I'm all on my own at the minute and the kids are in bed so this makes me feel even more scared
Do you get this very often?
It depends how bad my anxiety is. If I'm going through a bad patch id have an attack nearly everyday.
I no how you feel your not alone on that one I'm gonna give you some simple instructions that u fond really help ease my mind when I have an attack
Turn your light off and put a lamp on
Put on some relaxing music
Sit centre of the floor
Close your eyes
Clear your mind of everything
Take deep breathes in and long breathes out and imagine you are at a safe place and your surrounded by all the beauty and natural sounds tell yourself
I am safe I am okay I am a strong woman and I am gonna be okay
Do this till you feel completely calm
Hope this helps
Do you have anything to help? even a drink of alcohol or something to wind you down.
When I get like that a couple of glasses of wine does the job hope this helps you
I'm trying to take my mind off it, I've calmed a little but is still there. I have no alcohol at all, taking sips of water not that it will have the same effect.
Thank you for this! I'm going to try this now and hopefully it will help.
No wine unfortunately, I guess water will have to do for now l.
Let me no how you get on if u ever need to talk just message me
Thank you
☺ I no how horrible it is
Hi Sarah, you sound if you are having a panic attack, so if you have a paper
bag, try blowing in and out in it, it helps your breathing get to normal, and then you will be able hopefully relax.
Hi Sarah! First of all you will not die from anxiety.Anxiety is horrible! I know! OK have you got a paper bag in which you can breath into? At night put a few drops of lavender oil on your pillow.I also take rescue remedy as well.I am on beta-blockers propranalol. I also have reflexology & a massage (aromatherapy whenever I can.Have you got anyone who you can talk too? Regards Amanda
Hi Sarah, how are you this morning? I hope you got your breathing in control last night and that you will enjoy the rest of your holiday with your family. Dont forget we are here if needed. Enjoy
I'm feeling a little better thank you, although still feeling the anxiety. Managed I get out in the sun today but feel like my head now has pressure. One thing after another with anxiety. Thank you for your kind message, it feels so much better knowing I have you all to talk to.
