I hate going through this I had to stop my metformin and my metoprolol because of stool problems all day yesterday and last night into this morning. My hemrroids are acting up with this. Was in the hospital because of high heart rate and high blood pressure. Hospital does not even care at all won't even put me in to get checked out or help me. I didn't even sign the release papers when they said I was going home I told them no I'm not signing anything. Can't even keep anything in me at all have to eat saltine crakers nothing stays with me I'm tired of these stomach problems not even going back to that hospital at all. Just want to be able to eat food with out my stomach acting up.
hello susan,I'm so sorry to hear your suffering so much its such a horrid time for us ladies. i know i can't give you any help as i dont know what to advise you but just wanted to reply to give you some support. I went through a time early on in peri when i couldn't keep anything in and was rushing to the loo and just straining with nothing coming out only liquid poo 
. I do think our anxiety is a factor in this and it upsets our stomach. I ate porraige when i was bad and although didn't work wonders i though it was something wholesome for me. What a horrid experience with the hospital I know how it is as my GP has no interest in menopausal women but i must say whenever i've been to the hospital they have been ok with me although would not give me a bed at my worse. im not sure what is causing your stomach problem, but you should take the metoprolol to lower your heart rate, and your BP. Be sure that you know that it is the medicines that are causing your symptoms, ie if symptoms aren't relieved when stopping them, then it's not the tablets and you should restart them, particularly as you are diabetic.

I'm also taking metoprolol and have terrible indigestion. It's doing a pretty good job keeping my blood pressure & heart rate down and I don't seem to have any other problems with it so wish to stay on it but this stomach problem is terrible.I also have some diarrhea although it only lasts about a day.
I was also in the ER the other day for some heart issues and at the same time was having terrible indigestion and diarrhea. The hospital wanted to release and I argued with them, told the nurses I felt terrible. Doctor said well nothing more we can do for you today. Didn't want to admit me.
I managed to eat some lunch yesterday ok, but night times it's terrible, can't sleep because of constant indigestion, so much bloating and gas, running to the bathroom at times too.
I'm tired of dealing with these stomach issues, seems like some days no matter what I eat I'm burping and have a lot of gas. Of course the doctors solution is antiacids and pills for supress stomach acid which I don't want to take.
