anxiety about heart attack.

Hello, again.

I've been having symptoms of a heart attack and I keep feeling my heart palpitating. My chest hurts and I feel short of breathe.

I'm terrified I'm having a heart attack.

Does anyone else have this thought and have those feelings?

How do you convince yourself it's not a heart attack without going to the emergency room?

Please help me.

I've literally just got back from the Docs with the same problem!

She explained that palpitations are a really common symptom of anxiety because adrenalin causes your heart to jump around all over the place. People who are having a heart attack don't get palpitations so it's definitely not a heart attack!

Sometimes palpitations can be a sign of a thyroid condition or anaemia (both nothing to worry about) and very rarely are a sign of an underlying heart condition.

If you're an anxiety sufferer, it's pretty certain you're just experiencing adrenalin and you'll be absolutely fine!!!! Adrenalin palpitations don't cause any damage to the heart!

I get the exact same thing, so much so that I feel I'm going to faint because I'm trying so hard to breathe because I begin to panic that I'm having a heart attack. This causes me to get really dizzy and make myself feel sick. It's an awful feeling. I have been to many doctors and all have said it's an anxiety attack. They have treated me for other things because of other pains and symptoms but really, I think it's all down to stress and anxiety. sad Wish it would just get lost!!

I have this feeling almost on a daily basis.. I have had several trips to the hospital because of this very thing.. today I started getting anxious out if nowhere and my blood pressure and heart rate began to rise and continued.. I decided to go lay down.. the whole time I was laying there I continued to make myself more anxious by thinking this is the time where I should've gobe to the hospital.. I'm sitting here writing this now, so obviously everything turned out ok.. the symptoms of heart and anxiety attack are so similar, I nevery know what to do..
