hi everyone, i am currently 18 years old and have had a boyfriend for a year and three months. sex has always been a topic for us and i always have wanted with him but i was too afraid because of pregnancy. for the 13 months of our relationship i wasnt on birth control and i told him i wouldnt have sex until i was on it, so in march i went to the doctors and got the birth control pill ans been taking it to this day. we had sex for the first time a couple of days ago and he does wear a condom and pulls out, but i cant enjoy it because all i do is think about being pregnant. i know the chancces are very low becayse i am ALWAYS on time with my pill and all my friends who are on birth control never had an issue, but the thought of me being pregnant will always be in my head and its really uncomfortable because all i want go do is enjoy being intimate not worry & stress my boyfriend out. am i just overthinking a ton? I am always told that its very unlikely if you are on Birth control, using a condom AND pulling out. but i just need more reassurance....
i have been on birth control since i was 16, and am currently 23. my boyfriend and i have sex without a condom, and not pulling out, since i was 19 and i have never gotten pregnant. youre being way more cautious than me, youre going to be A-ok
i had a pregnancy scare once, we only used the pulling out method and i didn’t get pregnant. u have a higher chance of being safe since u use the pill but i’ve read it’s much better to combine methods of birth control like pills + condoms or pills + pulling out. that way you have double assurance. also, try tracking your period using an app like the flo app. that way u’ll know your not-so-fertile days and can set a schedule to have sex. stay safe!!

it sounds to me like you have your bases covered. doing all those 3 things I highly doubt you will get pregnant. if you do get pregnant by some crazy chance it’s not the end of the world. my friend in high school got pregnant and she put her baby up for adoption. she still stays in contact with the adoptive family and says she’s happy her son is well cared for. I wouldn’t stress over it if you are being super careful. I would also make sure with your Dr that your birth control pill is not a low dose one.
