it seems like every time I go to the doctors office my blood pressure is usually pretty high like 145/95 this in turn scares me and makes me even more anxious and worried the doctor insist my anxiety is behind the high numbers. I went to the er and 2 weeks ago for chest pain and shortness of breath and they said it was anxiety as well. While at the er I got a ekg and some blood test done my question is would any blood pressure problems show up in an ekg or blood test ? And can anxiety really cause temporary hbp ?
Hi a lot of people with anxiety have raised blood pressure when they go to the doctor's and not at any other time.It is very common.The tests in the ER are just checking to see if anything shows up any irregularities.I would think your chest pain etc is down to anxiety which you need treatment for
Ya my bp is usually always at the healthy range but it jumps up when I'm feeling anxious at the doctors office

Same as other replies my blood pressure is a lot higher when anxiuos, doctors surgery definately normal , seems to go hand in hand with anxiety, doctor will know how to treat this , just explain your concerns exactly as you have here, you've done the right thing by having tests and bloods done,. Chest pain and shortness of breath all anxiety symptoms. Hard to believe anxiety has so many physical symptoms. 'Normal' people tend to think anxiety just means your anxious or worry too much.😊❤️
Yeah it's just hard to believe that after all the reassurance my doctor and the normal test should give I still feel afraid of having some sort of diesiese be it hbp or heart problems
It's good to ask for reasurance and ask other people if they have similar symptoms, far better than worrying alone and not knowing wether to believe what docs tell you as you feel your symptoms could be something worse. Hope you feel reasured, doctors are usually thorough and have seen this a lot so usually right but if still concerned tell doc your concerns,
