Anxiety and BP?

Okay so, recently I've had a lot of panic attacks due to being paranoid and stuff like that. I had my BP taken today and it was higher than it has ever been. My BP has always been normal. What I wanted to know was, could this have been because of all the panic attacks? Note; I haven't had one today but this freaked me out.

Hey Karter

Don't worry if you continue having it high then you should worry. Too much stress and your panic attacks probably did that. Don't worry. Try to relax 👍now💪 Get therapy.

Most definitely! Anxiet/stress and panic attacks will definitely raise your BP. Ive been suffering from anxiety for the past 5 months and my BP has been high. Try and stay calm, practice brrsthing slow. Meditation works well. I also started adding cinnamon to my food and tea, it helps to lower BP. My BP has not been high for the last few months. Good luck

Hi Karter

I went to a hospital appointment recently and my blood pressure was sky high. I've similar readings at the doctor's in the past but put it down to white coat syndrome. Anyway this time I was alarmed and went to the doctor, bought a monitor and took a week of readings. The readings were still slightly high but within range. While at the doctor I also discussed the fact that I had been suffering quite badly from anxiety and she helped me realise that my high readings were caused by anxiety and that I should treat anxiety rather than blood pressure. Having understood this, my readings are all perfectly normal now. It's incredible what anxiety can do. I am still suffering from anxiety but at least I can focus on that now and stop worrying that the physical symptoms are something more serious.

Sorry to hear about your panic attacks - anxiety is horrible but it is possible to control it or eliminate it with help. If I go to the gym regularly I am pretty much symptom free. Good luck!!!
