I have had health anxiety and some other anxieties for a couple months and around 2 months ago my sinuses started to get painful. I’ve been on two courses of antibiotics and nothing. I only get stuffed up in one side that changes during day. But the main burden is sinus pain and pain in eye socket and eyes. Does anyone else have sinus issues or chronic sinuses that come with anxiety?
I had a lot of issues with my sinuses in the winter time.
Caused a lot of added stress and anxiety. Something that helped me a lot, was warm compress on my face, peppermint oil and a humidifier.
Once the sinus pain and pressure relaxed my anxiety did too
Hey Shane,
I’ve had very bad sinuses and headaches for over a year. I’ve had so many tests. MRI’s, scans, blood tests. I saw several doctors. I even went to the dentist. They were telling me it’s stress. Which I believed because I was getting stressed out not knowing what was wrong with me. The dr told me to sit over a pot of water and inhale the steam to help with the pain and tightness in my cheeks. I was desperate. I started having horrific panic attacks ad was hospitalized a few times. I eventually found a neurologist who has helped me. He prescribed Celexa. I looked at the filled bottle for a month and I decided to take it. The side effects were crazy. During this time my sinuses were still a mess and I still had the pain in my cheeks. June 30! I woke up with a swollen face and the next day worse. I met my Dentist and he prescribed me antibiotics for 10 days and said it’s an infection I went to endodontist and he confirmed it and did root canal and put me on another 10 days of antibiotics. Just the past 2 days I’m feeling better and my sinuses cleared. And my headaches are gone.
I’m thinking I had this for over a year. I’m just so disappointed that no one caught this earlier. I don’t want anyone to go through what I went through.

I used to get awful sinus issues which were directly triggered by stress and anxiety. I would often have to take a couple of course of anti b's to combat the awful pain. I still get sinus pressure pain especially around my cheeks and top of my nose. Nothing worked (Sudafed etc). I did have success with acupuncture and now the sinus issues are a lot less and not as severe. Stress/anxiety was a definite trigger though.
