I have been diagnosed with severe anxiety disorder and moderate depression disorder. Lately these two things have taken over my life and makes it really hard for me to function and do my daily activities, such as work, cook, clean, and even sleep.
I am on medication and I take it like I’m supposed to but I don’t feel like it’s working and it’s getting harder and harder to even want to get out of bed or go to work. And I feel like a lot of these outside stressors such as work is making everything worse and I am unsure what to do. I’m also beginning to get a little scared of how bad my anxiety is getting
Any help would be great.
Hi Briann, what medication have you been prescribed and how long have you been on it. It cam take a while for medication to kick in so dont give up.
Hi Brianni
Sorry to hear things are not great for you. Believe this is temporary and you will come through this rough patch. Be kind to yourself and take things step by step. Try not to think too much but keep busy. I have a mantra I say to myself : don’t think just do! It helps me focus on the task and not to worry about other issues. I find it best to keep working and try to be interested in other people. They help to put your worries into perspective. Do something you enjoy as a reward for keeping going during the hard times that gives you a goal to look forward to.
I wish you well. I have felt like you describe so i understand how it is but you will get better.

I can relate to you 100% I’m going through this at the moment my anxiety is horrendous and daily palpitations which my life has been taken.over by I’m at my wits end with it all. you aren’t alone .
it can take 6 to 8 weeks for medications like that to work. If you’ve gone that far and still don’t feel right, contact your doctor. You may need an adjustment in your dose or even a different medication. I have found that the doctors that know these antidepressants the best are the psychiatrists. They deal with these medications all the time. A lot of people need a doctor like this to work closely with them and their medications on a regular basis. They need to guide the patient alonh and have regular visits to discuss it all.
if you ever need immediate relief from panic or severe anxiety, go to YouTube and search for a short meditation called don’t panic. She guide you through it and teaches you how to get out of the immediate feeling of anxiety and or panic.
proper breathing is the key to managing this to a great extent.
Also, consider speaking with a therapist who can help. This is very difficult to go alone. You need support right now.
in The meantime, YouTube has some great meditations for anxiety, depression, sleep, breathing, etc. check them out! I hope you do feel better soon
