Lately I've been feeling as if I have to constantly take deep breaths, I'm afraid I have something wrong with my lungs or even my heart, last time I saw my doctor he listened to my heart and lungs and said both sound normal, last night my upper back felt tight and I felt like I couldn't breathe then I fell asleep for awhile and woke up and felt normal again, is this all anxiety or something else?
Excatly what I am suffering from, it is aniexty but afraid I have no other advice to offer and still in the worst of it!

Hi Brandon, It does sound like anxiety - are you particularly stressed at the moment? As you stated in your post, your doctor checked it out and ruled out anything serious. So, that should put your mind at rest. Please, don't think I am trivialising the symptoms you are experiencing. I know that anxiety can rear its ugly head in a variety of different ways. It's almost feels like although it's good that the doctor has said its nothing to worry about- you are still having uncomfortable physical symptoms! Ultimately, it whether you can cope with it. Good luck, Donna x
Definitely anxiety, I have had this so many times along with chest pain/tightness. Try this simple breathing exercise, it works really well for me...
1. Sit with your back straight and your hands in your lap or on your thighs. Close your eyes. While doing this keep the tip of your tongue touching the top of your mouth.
When you inhale – do it through your nose. Exhale through your mouth. Ready?
2. Start inhaling slowly for 4 seconds (count them in your head not out loud). Push out your stomach and fill your lower lungs first like that. Then the rest of the lungs are filled.
Hold your breath for until you count to 7.
Exhale comfortably for 8 seconds.
Try to imagine that all the anxiety is leaving your body while you are exhaling. You are letting it go.
Pause for 2 seconds without inhaling (very important) and do this one more time.
Repeat until you feel your chest pain gone.
I'm still having many physical symptoms, my doctor has assured me it is anxiety but the fear is hanging around, I wish this would go away and I could feel normal again
