Anxiety back again

So I've suffered from health anxiety before and it almost ruined me but now it's back well kind of. So passed couple of days I've felt kind of flat not much energy still able to go to gym and stuff but developed quite a sore throats about a week ago and it persisted until two days ago in which I noticed that the gland just under my jaw on the right side of my neck has swollen quite a lot. It's quite tender when I touch it and it cause a little pain when I turn my head but nothing of great hindrance. Now obviously I think that I went through a bit of a virus and this is my swollen gland acting they way it's supposed to but I'm a little worried it could something more serious like a lymphoma or something which has freaked me out a lot. The nodes on the right side are normal size just the gland has swelled up.

None the less I'm freaking out about it and the internet is the last place I should be but my parents just seem to pass it off as nothing and the doctor will tell me what I've been thinking all along.

The thing is I've got no symptoms that would indicate any type of cancer apart from one swollen gland that isn't even noticeable unless you touch my neck but I'm still freaking out.

Tom, you weren't clear about if you've seen a doctor for your sore throat.  How do you know it was viral pharyngitis?

Havnt seen a doctor but knew I had an infection because I've had this many times before and now I've got it when I feel that way

But you don't know what kind of infection.  It could be bacterial, maybe strep throat, and you should be on an antibiotic.  I think you should stop worrying about cancer and get that throat looked at to make sure there isn't still something going on in there that is making your gland swell.  I think many young people write here just to have someone who doesn't know them and can't even see them say "Oh, it's nothing. Forget about it."
