I started suffering anxiety 3 years ago, I was lying in bed one night and my heart suddenly started racing (I thought I was dying) but it was a panic attack. I've suffered since. Adrenaline kicking in, heart racing, health anxiety. I thought it was under control but it's back BAD. Worse if I'm really tired, my mind goes blank then impending doom/racing heart strikes, I feel like I'm losing my mind or need help. It's the scariest thing and worse than ever, anyone have similar??
Yes i used to get it a number of times in one day, don't worry about this its only a panic attack.
My first panic attack was so bad i disnt know what it was!
I always thought a panic attack is just getting stressed out but it feels like you are dying!
If i have a bad panic attack i get tight throat, my heart races so fast, i feel dizzy, i feel different temperature in my body, i feel like my stomach is going crazy etc..
Your not alone .
But take care of it as soon as possible because my mistake was that i thought it will go away and it turned into kind of a depression, and i got used to the panic attacks so it just makes me feel like sick , and now i have a really bad health anxiety and i constantly worry.
But dont worry those symptoms wont kill you its very normal.
I can 100% relate to you Jen. 100%.
I had my first panic attack a few months ago. Since then, it has been a roller coaster. Panic has been really bad the first few months especially at night when I'm in my bed, but after going to a doctor, meds, supplements, and most importantly self-development, it has greatly improved and if I get those times, I have tools to lessen the load.
What have you done so far to help your panic attacks?
My temperature changes as well, I get a bit flush which is one of the first symptoms. My health anxiety varies, ddoesnt matter how many times it happens you still think that's the end. I did get very depressed before and I won't be letting that happen again!
Omg I wrote a big reply and it's gone! I just try take my mind to a happy place by putting a movie on in the background, like a distraction almost. I've just recently tried writing down what happens too.
What kind of supplements have you tried? I could probably try that!
The feeling I'm going to lose control of my mind gets to me the most, I'm so scared I'm going to go crazy or something! At the time its happening I feel I need to be somewhere with people who can help, it's a weird horrible feeling!
Hi Jen Anxiety is horrid. But you need to try and relax, easier said that done.I have night time rescue remedy which you can by in health store. Also kalms are good.Lavender oil also very calming.Try a burner with lavender in it.also a few drops of lavender on your pillow.A warm milky drink. last thing at night.Try Reflexology every other week.Regards Amanda
There are natural suppements out there, but for the time being, have you talked to your doctor about anti-depresants? It definitely will help you get out of that state. I only recommend it in the beginning so it will help you get back on your feet from the terrible anxiety at the moment. Then you will be able to learn the tools to get rid of panic once you can think straight.
I recommend taking 200mg magnesium citrate and 200mg calcium taken together daily. It helps relax your muscles. And if you have a magnesium deficieny, it may actually possibly cure your panic. IF that is what is causing it. But nevertheless it will help.
I also recommend Vitamin B complex. If you are deficient, it will help. If not, it will still help.
L-Theanine is a supplement that I take because it helps me redirect my thoughts and allows me to focus better.
I hope this helps Jen!
Thanks Amanda! I suppose relaxing when I can would help (i have a 1 year old and a 6 week old) but even before I feel tense constantly! I definitely want to try the lavender and a nice drink, I cant remember what it feels like to be relaxed. Thank you for your suggestions, I'll need to try some
Yeah i have the same problems more or less. And to put simply, anxiety doesn't just come out of nowhere, there's ALWAYS a trigger. Something may have triggered you to get it back again, what has changed in your life recently?
Also i could note that simply looking around in the comments can really boost your confidence with your anxiety, as you see other people deal with the same type of problems as yourself. Hopefully i was of some help, i'm fighting the same demons as you are.
