hi guys, my anxiety has been through the roof the past few weeks. im getting really bad joint pain, my hands, elbows, shoulder blades you name it, cheat pain the lot. its really scary thinking anxiety can do this much damage. i was scared I had developed a chronic disease. can anyone else relate to this? my doctor is also putting it down to anxiety but my mind is fixated on a disease that is causing all this discomfort.
how long has this been going on
hiya this so sounds like me just lately
everyday ive been suffering from aches chest pains feeling scared i suffer from health anxiety and im currently seeing an intense face to face counsillor after having telephone cbt
have you asked your doctor for blood tests etc
anxiety is a cow! thoughts with you
YES I believe it!!! My husband has been having clogged ears with discomfort since June.. He has been to easily 5 doctors for this— The doctors don’t see anything major. He is very anxious and I explained to him that stress/anxiety does odd things to our bodies. He won’t take anything for his anxiety or see a therapist. Right now, he is spending 300 bucks on cleaning our air ducts in the house hoping that it solves the problem with his ears. As we get older, aches/pains do happen-- hence the cooler weather has all the older people going to warm climates for their joints and bones. Try to relax-- go swimming for the pain, it really makes a difference. And eat well–I believe sugar also causes many problems… Best of luck.
I can totally relate to you
thanks for the replies people. appreciate it. As far as requesting blood tests, my GP is certain that it is all down to anxiety. its just scary, funnily enough. ive suddenly stopped my antidepressants and I know the withdrawal symptoms can be brutal. I know in my head that im probably fine but health anxiety just toys with your thoughts. im 25 years old and relatively healthy but my body and mind is currently against me at the minute.
Eating is something im struggling to do at the minute. your husband isnt alone, I suffer from ringing in the ears and that plugged up feeling when my anxiety levels are at a peak. Im 25 years old and anxiety symptoms dont discriminate unlike a lot of age related diseases out there. its crazy how our body’s react to stressful situations
hello.I get this as well.pains everywhere all the time every day.my doctor says the same thing.but it does not help me knowing that.you would think it would but nope.I have the ringing in ears to mine is horrible.wakes me up hard to not think about it.then somewhere in the back of my mind there is that..thought that it means something is wrong with me…then there is the stomach pain.then the back pain.the strange headaches…then comes the panic feelings which are completely different that the thing above.the tingling face arms cheats legs.burning feeling in whole body.tremors the list goes on and on I could just keep going.but I’m not going to.
I have no idea what to do.I have tried everything.
same here
Wow James I can relate to you and your symptoms and just about everyone else here who has written in and yes, I think maybe it is stress and anxiety. I also put mine down to uncomfortable high BP and the amount of medication that I take which doesn’t seem to work. I cannot get off these toxic chemicals.
As I write this my whole body tingles from head to toe and it’s horrible. I have an under active thyroid, our thyroid controls the whole body maybe that could be my problem. I have regular yearly blood tests.
I try to do everything that is right for me for example eat a good diet, no process foods, no vices, walk daily. I have a very good marriage no money worries.
My gp sent me to a psychiatrist/psychologist, he doesn’t know either.
These days listening to the world news is enough to get anyone down; so I don’t bother.
And so it goes on , What do you think?
I think the anxiety part is up to us to deal with for me anyway.I can done what control it.or at least I like to think that.but for what cause the anxiety.the pain and sensations that cause it.I have no idea.I have no problems as well they say it has nothing to do with the panic.but I think that’s bull to.I can go to the doctor and when they take my bp and its a lille high I tell them not to tell me.but they do they I go on panic mode and it goes high like real high.stroke high.and I know that’s not good so my thinking is panic is going to kill me.which it will if I don’t get it under control.sorry for such long post.
my body is in overdrive as I write this too.! pains in random places.
James mate, youre not alone, i visit my GP on a fortnightly basis because of new symptoms. i believe what my GP says for about 24hours, then I start questioning myself on whether he has missed something and then the vicious cycle starts again. I used to blame myself for visiting my GP because our NHS is on its knees but anxiety/health anxiety is a mental disease which can affect anyone. im glad i can relate buddy. stay strong(although i know its easier said than done!!)
ask your gp for some routine blood tests it will put your mind at rest i promise
ask your doctor for a benzodiazepine if you havnt already. these are a minor tranquilizer which a good for pain and anxiety a lot better than antidepressants
it might help you get out of the cycle you are in
I feel exactly like this. As well as my body feels really tired and heavy, but my mind wont shut off for good sleep.
I wish no one had to feel this way it is horrible.
how long have you endured anxiety
I would personally say ive suffered with it all of my life. Looking back now, even in my teenage years I used to feel like this but not as bad if that makes sense? The older I’ve got the more I’ve understood and educated myself around anxiety. My mother passed away at the age of 41 due to pneumonia so that has impacted my health anxiety to the extremes.
Ringing ear sounds like blood pressure issues. How much is your daily Na intake?
