Hey everone. Hope all is well! I just had a question for the community in regards to fatigue. Can anyone tell me the diiferance in it relating to acual illness or depresion? Like how should i know iguess?
If you are tired get some rest. Many depressed victims are fatigues and don't sleep well; me incuded. If you are still tired than any medication may have a drowsy side effect. Mertazapine makes you a little drowsy that's for sure.
Hi,
A very difficult question to answer as the previous poster stated.
Anxiety and/or depression alone can make you mentally drained and thus physically fatigued along with it.
Then start adding meds not only for the mental state but also any physical problems, then you really lose sight of what's causing the fatigue.
Personally I feel completely drained 24/7, because of ptsd, anxiety, depression plus spinal cord problems.
Mike.
Thank you for your response. The problem is im over sleeping. I was prescribed 20mg of celexa so i guess that might be it??
Hi I've just posted similar in the anxiety forum, I have anxiety but think I'm depressed too, I can't separate my symptoms, I'm on mess for anxiety but I feel so low my hubby thinks it's depression more. I'm at such a low at the moment.
Hi Pipboy101, some diseases can cause fatigue, for example, thyroid disorders. They can also cause brain fog. Hypothyroid patients can feel very sleepy with no energy and low blood pressure. On the other hand, hyperthyroid patients often show symptoms that can be mistaken for panic attacks and anxiety.
To make a definite diagnosis, physicians often look for additional symptoms (like heart rate, hand tremor, muscle weakness, etc) and use blood tests. For the case I mentioned above, that would be a thyroid function test.
I understand that by actual illness you meant physical illness. I think I should mention that clinical depression is an actual illness where the organ that is affected happens to be the brain. It can cause severe physical symptoms like nausea, chronic pain, insomnia, fatigue, etc.
